Human Need

To achieve their vision of scalable growth and a best-in-class student and staff experience, Trilogy Education Services (now part of 2U) knew they needed to eliminate operational inefficiencies wherever possible.

Robots & Pencils is our go-to edtech partner. They can walk right into an organization and contribute rapidly, successfully driving projects to completion and providing valuable thought leadership. Their work has been critical to advancing our key initiatives and accomplishing some of our biggest wins.

Digital Solution

Robots & Pencils conducted a deep dive into Trilogy’s operations. After identifying areas for improvement and new technologies for supporting Trilogy’s students and staff, R&P partnered with the company’s CTO, CFO and PMO to develop a prioritized roadmap and backlog aligned to key business objectives. From there, R&P focused on optimizing Trilogy’s Order to Cash cycle—doing everything from gathering requirements to developing Salesforce customizations and integrations.

A Far Better Way

This work transformed how Trilogy plans, invoices and processes payments, including giving staff the ability to easily create student financial plans and share them for student review and approval. The team also designed a custom portal for students to view invoices and make payments.

Throughout the partnership, R&P also consulted on organizational structure and operations, helping Trilogy to introduce a new Agile framework, get the right people in the right seats for success, and ensure a smooth rollout for the new OTC processes and payment portal.
